EX Classification

Glamox have vast experience from the most extreme Ex-conditions in the North sea.
EX Classification
All Ex products must be certifi ed by a verified third party. The certification is carried out according to the relevant European regulations.

Explosion proof areas are divided into 3 different zones:

Zone 0 Explosive gasses are present always or in long periods.
Zone 1 Explosive gasses are present during normal operation.
Zone 2 Explosive gasses are present only for short periods of time.

Glamox produce luminaires suited for Zone 1 (Ex-e) and Zone 2 (Ex-n).

We can divide these zones into temperature groups depending on the type of gas that can be present in the area. Glamox have luminaires certified for temperature groups:

T3: Max temperature 200°C
T4: Max temperature 135°C
T5: Max temperature 100°C

All gasses, which can be present in these areas are grouped in categories based on the energy needed to ignite them. Glamox luminaires are all certifi ed for the strictest group IIC.

ATEX
Glamox luminaires are all certified according to the European ATEX directive (94/9/EC) and therefore certified according to the standards EN50014, EN50021 and EN50019.
