Oulo is a large pendant luminaire consisting of an inner light source enclosed in a cylinder of optical acrylic and concentric horizontal rings which together form a sphere. The rings, which are of different widths, are mounted on four chrome-plated arms.
Oulo is designed for large rooms, and gives a great deal of light towards the sides. The ring-shaped blinds prevent anyone looking directly at the light source when looking at the fittings at an angle from below. Shaped like a globe and finished in chrome and high gloss paint, with a high quality acrylic shade, this large interior luminaire is particularly well suited for public areas.
Inspiration from the north Ice, cold, and a frosty Arctic landscape were images that Olle Anderson had in mind when he designed this large luminaire. Oulo is part of a design concept that includes another large pendant luminaire, Kemi, and the smaller Alice.
