Perfectly selected lighting
We were honoured to provide advanced lighting solutions for this prestigious facility. In a structure characterised by open, glass-enclosed spaces, lighting plays a pivotal role, demanding precision in the selection process. The project incorporated PACO floodlights and FX45 luminaires featuring Dynawhite technology, which enables dynamic adjustments to the colour temperature of white light. This innovative solution allows lighting conditions to be tailored to various building functions, ensuring optimal illumination for both teaching spaces and recreational areas.
Aesthetics and functionality were the key factors in the lighting selection process. The luminaires’ simple and sleek linear design, the colour of the anodised aluminium finish, the high quality and superior workmanship resonated with the architectural vision, ultimately influencing the decision to choose Glamox lighting.
Project execution and challenges
The planning phase for the Hub of Innovation project began in 2018, yet construction was postponed until four years later. The lighting system was successfully delivered and installed by July 2024. Close collaboration with the architectural studio and the project contractor was essential to ensuring a seamless execution.
Results and conclusion
The integration of Dynawhite technology has helped create a space that not only serves academic purposes but also enhances the overall comfort and wellbeing of students and faculty. PACO projectors perfectly illuminate two expansive green walls, each measuring 7.5 metres in width and 18 metres in height. These vertical gardens not only enhance the visual appeal of the space but also contribute to improved air quality, creating favourable conditions for learning. By highlighting the architectural features of the building and incorporating energy-efficient solutions, the lighting design aligns with the principles of sustainable construction.
