Glamox has recently supplied a complete lighting package to a new floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) that will operate off the coast of Brazil. The FPSO is constructed and operated by Modec, one of the largest FPSO contractors in the world.
The FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV 29 is owned and operated by Modec on behalf of the Brazilian oil major Petrobras. The FPSO will operate off the cost of Rio de Janeiro.
Glamox Far East in Singapore has supplied more than 1800 LED light luminaires to the FPSO, with a product range from downlights (DL60) to explosion proof products like the FX60 floodlights and MAX LED. LED lighting systems ensures a long lifetime, and reduced maintenances which are valuable features for the FPSO that is expected to stay be deployed offshore for more than 20 years.

Glamox has supplied a complete lighting package to the newly delivered sister liquified natural gas (LNG) carriers GasLog Houston and GasLog Hong Kong. The 174,000CBM twin screw LNG/Cs were constructed in Hyundai Heavy Industries (HN 2800-2801) and are equipped with the state of the art XDF 2-stroke main engines.
The tankers are equipped with two types of LED floodlights from Glamox: FX60 that are developed for zone 1 hazardous areas and FL60 for safe areas. Both types of floodlights are characterized by low power consumption and low maintenance need. In Zone 1 areas one has also chosen to use TX60, technical lighting. As area lighting Glamox provided TX65. Both luminaires are designed for use in harsh environments, with an impressive temperature range from -50°C up to +55°C.
Among other products Glamox has supplied for the project are more than a thousand TL60 LED luminaires. We have also supplied more than 400 recessed TL11 luminaires, also for indoor use.
The former shuttle tanker Hanne Knutsen has been through a major conversion and is now operating on the Martin Linge oil field in the North Sea as a Floating Storage and Offloading vessel (FSO). A crew of 17 people will work in a three-step scheme that creates over 50 jobs at the FSO while its’s in operation.
Lighting is of key importance to the crew on board the FSO. Glamox have supplied a high-quality lighting solution to the vessel. The package consists of EX lighting such as floodlights (FX60), technical lighting (TX60) as well as interior light and searchlights.
