Glamox has recently supplied a complete lighting package to a new floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) that will operate off the coast of Brazil. The FPSO is constructed and operated by Modec, one of the largest FPSO contractors in the world.
The FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV 29 is owned and operated by Modec on behalf of the Brazilian oil major Petrobras. The FPSO will operate off the cost of Rio de Janeiro.
Glamox Far East in Singapore has supplied more than 1800 LED light luminaires to the FPSO, with a product range from downlights (DL60) to explosion proof products like the FX60 floodlights and MAX LED. LED lighting systems ensures a long lifetime, and reduced maintenances which are valuable features for the FPSO that is expected to stay be deployed offshore for more than 20 years.

Offshore living quarters are often referred to as a “hotel”. The Johan Sverdrup hotel includes 450 cabins with connected bathrooms, a large industrial kitchen that serves meals x times a day, social areas and exercise facilities. Glamox has supplied lighting for all these areas, in addition to corridors, stairwells, technical rooms and exterior.
