Glamox launches new generations of FX60 and TX65 with flat glass diffuser
Based on our continuous extensive testing and operational experience over the last years Glamox is now introducing the next generation of FX60 and TX65 with improved performance and a more compact design. Both products are certified to the latest standards.
When the first generation of FX60 was launched in 2014 it was a game changer for hazardous zone1 floodlighting, and Glamox has since the introduction delivered high volumes of the FX60 floodlight family.
Flat glass for a protected design
By replacing the glass dome with a flat glass, the Generation II has a significantly more compact and protected design, reducing exposure for external impacts in operational applications.
The reduced internal air volume caused by the change of diffuser glass represents additional improvements as the Ex related dynamic test pressure of modules is reduced by 60% hence reducing stress on materials and molded joints in manufacturing process.
In extreme conditions with high temperature fluctuations, any enclosure can experience humidity condensation due to repeated breathing (pressure alignment) between enclosure and ambient, even if the enclosures are tested to IP66 and IP67. A reduced internal volume decreases breathing significantly.
High quality LED
The FX60 and TX65 Generation II have incorporated the latest versions of high-quality LED diodes with high reliability in an extensive operational ambient temperature range.
Molded cable entry
Furthermore, the cable entering the module is molded inside to avoid late effects caused by cold flow of cable insulators and following breathing via cable entry. The cable is stripped down to copper wire strands to allow mold filler to flow in-between strands. Additionally, the cable entry is pressure tested.
Comparable light distribution
Both the FX60 and TX65 Generation II deliver a comparable light distribution to the first generation, following there is no need to correct existing installations and designs.
To withstand extreme operational challenges, the Generation II modules have in addition to reduced air volume included an O-ring between glass and heatsink inside and a gasket under front-bezel overlapping glass, mold and heatsink.
Long product lifetime
The IC driver is relocated to the center of LED PCB. As the driver circuit is based on semiconductors the heat management system ensures long LED + IC driver system lifetime. The interconnection wires between driver and LED are eliminated in the new design, thus giving a sturdy and reliable connection in harsh operational conditions.
