Marienhospital, Witten

The Marienhospital was established back in 1858. Today, it is a very modern hospital in the town centre of Witten, near Dortmund in the Ruhr district of Germany.
This traditional municipal hospital was recently upgraded and new buildings added to the venerable 19th century wings. Marienhospital now has one of the most modern intensive care units in the country, a new centre for the treatment of heart and cardiovascular diseases, a new gynaecological outpatients department and a central sterilisation unit. Building work on a new, central operating theatre facility and a new maternity ward has just been launched. More than 1,800 children are born here each year.

Clean room luminaires
Glamox C60-R with the aluminium frame system was installed in several locations at the newbuildings. Glamox C60 is a compact clean room luminaire providing a high degree of efficiency and IP65 protection mode for use in sterile facilities. In operating theatres users can select any lighting scenarios using panels to match the specific situation and allow for an adaptation of the lighting conditions to the most different requirements within operating theatres.

Corridors and public areas were lit by a great number of Glamox D20 LED downlights.
