The University of Manchester - Roscoe Building
The Roscoe building is the hub for conferences and meetings.
The Roscoe building consists of two large lecture theatres on the ground floor seating up to 700 people with 19 flexible syndicate rooms and additional breakout rooms for conferences. The entrance to the building has a large foyer that is the focal point to students, the lighting had been previously illuminated with fluorescent products and over time was deemed to be poorly lit and high in maintenance, it needed a total face lift including new room décorative finishes.
Our project brief was for energy saving product solutions with longer lamp life and less maintenance. In order to uplift the lighting levels and illuminate the foyer area we used a combination of linear recessed, pendant mounted LED products supplemented with LED downlights and track mounted spots around the periphery of the foyer. All luminaires supplied with DALI control gear.
