Assembly and production halls

Assembly work today has become more automated and quality demands are higher. For the remaining visual work tasks, an intelligent and ergonomic lighting solution is imperative to maintain worker satisfaction and performance.
Assembly halls come in all kinds of sizes, ceiling heights and with different production flows. Ambient temperatures and the degree of automation vary. So do the requirements for available floor size and task lighting. Hence, the lighting solution needs to be flexible, catering to the needs of both automated work processes and
detailed human inspection work. Introducing lighting zones that are adaptable to different illuminance levels increases flexibility as work processes may change rapidly.

Workers have different lighting needs. Elderly people need more light, and the solution is dimmable task area lighting or additional luminaires where needed. Lighting requirements varies with the work operation. From the medium low illuminance levels in assembly halls and welding and forging to the higher levels required in precision machining and monitoring stations. Workstation lighting should be positioned above and a little to the side of each workstation.

Linear or symmetrical luminiaires fitted with fluorescent tubes or LEDs are the favoured option for assembly and production plants. They are flexible systems that are easily adaptable to changes in work
operations. In dusty environments, enclosed luminaires with high IP ratings should be installed. Where ceilings are above 6 m, high-bay LED luminaires are suitable. are suitable.
